Vascular Surgery

Rockwood Clinic’s vascular surgeon is part of the General Surgery department. He specializes in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of diseased blood vessels, which includes both occlusive and aneurismal disease. The diseased vessels can cause strokes, claudication, gangrene, limb loss, hypertension, kidney failure or death. The patients with kidney failure need dialysis and the vascular surgeon creates the access to facilitate that process. The access is usually a fistula which is a vein connected to an artery. Peritoneal dialysis is another option for long-term care.

Our vascular surgeon also specializes in the surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disease. Thyroidectomy is indicated in the management of thyroid nodules, tumors and goiters. Parathyroidectomy is indicated in the management of tumors and hyperplasia of the parathyroid glands, which control calcium metabolism.

You don't have to be an existing Rockwood Clinic patient to see a Rockwood Clinic specialist.
