Rockwood Clinic is conducting a research study to test the safety and efficacy of exenatide as a treatment for type 2 diabetic children and adolescents.
Your child may qualify for this study if they:
- Are between ages 10 to 16 years, inclusive
- Have a diagnosis and history of type 2 diabetes
- Are naïve to anti-diabetic agents and being treated with diet and exercise alone or are being treated with metformin, a sulfonylurea, or a combination of both (with or without diet and exercise), for at least 3 months
- Are able to understand and comply with a lifestyle modification program
Your child will receive the following at no charge:
- Study-related physical exams and laboratory tests
- Diabetes education and coaching
- Study medications and supplies
