Adolescent Type 2 Diabetes (CTBQ)

Rockwood Clinic is conducting a research study to test the safety and efficacy of exenatide as a treatment for type 2 diabetic children and adolescents.

Your child may qualify for this study if they:

  • Are between ages 10 to 16 years, inclusive
  • Have a diagnosis and history of type 2 diabetes
  • Are naïve to anti-diabetic agents and being treated with diet and exercise alone or are being treated with metformin, a sulfonylurea, or a combination of both (with or without diet and exercise), for at least 3 months
  • Are able to understand and comply with a lifestyle modification program

Your child will receive the following at no charge:

  • Study-related physical exams and laboratory tests
  • Diabetes education and coaching
  • Study medications and supplies
