Many people associate midwives only with childbirth, but nurse midwives have a role much broader than that. CNMs provide healthcare for women throughout their lives. Services at the Rockwood Midwifery Center include:

The Midwife Childbirth Experience
At the Rockwood Midwifery Center, our CNMs provide an option in childbirth that is holistic, safe and personalized. Our CNMs become your guide through pregnancy, monitoring your progress and carefully searching for any potential problems that may arise. CNMs are licensed, credentialed and trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of deviations from the norm. If a complication develops during pregnancy or labor, the CNM consults with physician specialists, who may step in to help if needed.
During labor, your CNM will join you soon after you arrive at the hospital, giving you all the support and encouragement you need to follow your birth plan, including use of pain medication, anesthesia and delivery position. Through listening to you, your CNM helps make the birth of your baby a more joyful, memorable experience.
Our care is family-focused and personalized, preventive, satisfying and safe. We advocate for nonintervention and we take time to listen—because you know what’s best for you.
