Rockwood Clinic's Family Medicine providers work from six different clinical locations conveniently located throughout Spokane County. Family Medicine is a specialty area of medicine that treats a wide range of health conditions from prenatal to end of life care. This includes first-contact care, continuous care, comprehensive care, personal care, and family care using the best available medical knowledge. At the center of this process is the patient-physician relationship with the patient viewed in the context of the family.
A family physician provides primary care. They treat acute and chronic illnesses and provide preventive care and health education for all ages and both sexes. Some of our family physicians also deliver babies and provide obstetric services.
This care is based on knowledge of the patient in the context of the family and the community, emphasizing disease prevention and health promotion. When subspecialty care is indicated, the family physician refers the patient to other specialists or caregivers but remains the coordinator of the patient’s health care.
Rockwood Clinic has a growing number of family medicine physicians working with individuals and families from throughout our region. Each of our locations has one or more female providers for women and families seeking a female health care provider.
