The Diabetes and Metabolic Health Center is dedicated to providing excellent medical care in the treatment of metabolic diseases such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, reproductive and other hormonal diseases, conditions affecting the pituitary and adrenal glands, and other conditions such as osteoporosis and cholesterol disorders.
The Rockwood Diabetes Education Center offers a comprehensive diabetes education program for individuals with diabetes and their families. Our goal is to help you get the skills you need to better manage your diabetes and achieve improved health and wellbeing. We have an experienced team of certified diabetes educators, both registered nurses and registered dietitians, who are dedicated to partnering with you and your medical provider to meet your individual needs. They can assist you with insulin management, dealing with individual barriers, blood sugar pattern management, or more personalized help with nutrition management.
We also sponsor an annual Diabetes Day health event, which is a day long educational program promoting diabetes self management for patients, their families and the general public. Medical experts speak on all areas of diabetes care, treatment and complications of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. This program, which began in 2000, attracts more than 800 people annually who want to learn more about diabetes. We partner with Premera Blue Cross and receive support from the American Diabetes Association and the Eastern Washington Diabetes Network.
