For more than 40 years, Rockwood specialists have been treating diseases and disorders of the skin in patients from infants to the elderly. A dermatologist is a physician who is trained to evaluate and manage pediatric and adult patients with benign and malignant disorders of the skin, hair, nails and adjacent mucous membranes. These conditions include but are not limited to: rashes, acne, skin cancers, sun damage, moles, warts, eczema, fungus, hair loss, psoriasis and skin allergies.
We offer phototherapy (PUVA and UVB) for psoriasis and other skin conditions, and outpatient surgery for removal of a variety of benign and malignant growths.
Our Dermatology department can often see patients for same-day appointments.
Public Service Announcement
This summer, practice sun safety to avoid premature aging and skin cancer.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S., with more than one million cases diagnosed each year. Be smart: avoid the rays during 10 AM to 4 PM and always wear sunscreen — 365 days a year.
See your doctor for an annual skin cancer screening, and keep an eye on any changing freckles, moles and skin spots. Report any changes to your doctor. Call us today for a screening or to learn more!
