Rockwood began offering orthopedic surgery services in 1951, and continues to provide comprehensive care for orthopedic patients of all ages. The surgeons specialize in the repair of diseased, injured or arthritic bones, joints and spine as well as care of fractures and dislocations. They use progressive medical and surgical treatments.
When surgery is indicated, new arthroscopic techniques greatly reduce recovery time. Advances in hip and joint replacement include the use of ceramic and titanium hardware along with minimally invasive surgery. These techniques result in less post surgical pain and faster recovery for the patient.
A new treatment option is also available for persistent pain from tennis elbow. This involves the injection of platelet rich plasma (PRP), which speeds healing and reduces pain. Many of our orthopedic providers are also part of the Sports Medicine provider network working to treat and rehabilitate athletes who have sustained sports-related injuries.
