Weight Loss Surgery

The Weight Loss Surgery, or Bariatric Surgery, Program at Rockwood Clinic and Deaconess Medical Center, is led by Rockwood surgeons who have been working with obese patients since 1998. We offer a comprehensive program with multiple surgical options: Laparoscopic Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Gastric Banding and Laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy.

Our patients benefit from our intensive pre-operative education, nutritional counseling and support group. The decision to proceed with surgery is followed by pre-surgery education, nutrition guidance, counseling and other health services. The patient learns about making necessary lifestyle changes and begin a dietary modification program before surgery occurs. Surgical candidates also go through an extensive screening process to determine whether specialized dietary management is indicated before surgery.

Our surgeons are specifically trained to meet the needs of the surgical weight loss patient. Dr. Andrew Bright, Dr. Mathew Rawlins, and Dr. Jonathan Spitz are board certified and are active members of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. With over 2000 bariatric procedures to date, they are committed to providing you with the best option for obesity today.
