Rockwood Clinic recognizes the need for continued monitoring and patient education
while on anticoagulation therapy. Our focus is on prophylactic care to reduce the likelihood,
and prevent development of; deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke, or other
thromboembolic injuries associated with anticoagulation therapy.
Outpatient services include pre and post op instruction for surgical procedures. Other
specialty procedures requiring the interruption of therapy are also monitored. Modalities
include oral or injection therapies using Warfarin or Low Molecular Weight Heparin
dependent upon situational requirement.
Our award-winning clinic, established in 1999, serves to improve the quality of
treatment with anticoagulants. The midlevel providers of this clinic are dedicated to the goals
of this service.
Patients enrolled in the AMS clinic can expect to:
Have INR monitored on a regularly scheduled basis with dose adjustments made as needed.
Receive ongoing education relative to proper management of therapeutic goals of therapy.
Receive appropriate and timely intervention to minimize or avoid complications associated
with anticoagulation therapy.
The AMS providers schedule appointments at satellite clinics a well as the main clinic.
An appointment can be made by calling the scheduling center for the appropriate satellite
office. Referral is necessary from the referring physician.
