Rockwood Clinic Radiology Manager eating cookies for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

To bring attention to the fight against breast cancer, Phill Clayton, manager of the Rockwood Clinic Radiology department, will try and eat more Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies in one hour than Don Dockter, owner of Dockter’s X-ray Inc. of Seattle to raise funds for the Spokane Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event.  Funds raised are based upon on how many cookies each man can consume in one hour. 
Eighth Annual Diabetes Day held Saturday, March 29

Rockwood Clinic and Premera Blue Cross hosted the eighth annual Diabetes Day on Saturday, March 29, at Spokane Community College.  More than 650 people attended the event. Diabetes Day is an educational program promoting diabetes self-management for patients, their families and the general public.  Medical experts spoke on all areas of diabetes care, treatment and complications of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.  The event featured exhibit booths showcasing diabetes products and services, and health clinics offering screenings for diabetes related conditions.
Rockwood Clinic Announces Tobacco-Free Environment

Rockwood Clinic is proud to announce that on April 1, 2008, smoking and the use of all tobacco products will be prohibited on all Rockwood Clinic owned property.  The tobacco-free policy will apply to all Rockwood Clinic employees, patients and visitors.
Joseph Kreilkamp Named Student Athletic Trainer of the Year

Rockwood Clinic and the Sports Medicine selected Joseph Kreilkamp as the recipient of the 2008 ‘Student Athletic Trainer of the Year’ scholarship award.  Kreilkamp was recognized at the Spokane Regional Sports Commission 2008 Sports Awards Luncheon at the Spokane Convention Center February 13. 
Dr. Laselle Awarded 2007 Internest of the Year

New Rockwood Cancer Treatment Center Opens in Spokane Valley

Rockwood Clinic is pleased to announce the Rockwood Cancer Treatment Center has expanded their services to the Spokane Valley. The Center opened today at 12410 E. Sinto, Suite 101 and is within walking distance of the Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
Rockwood Clinic Physician Elected to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians

Glen R. Stream, M.D., FAAFP, MBI, a family physician at the Valley Rockwood Clinic, has been elected to the board of directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). The AAFP represents nearly 94,000 physicians and medical students nationwide. Stream was elected to a three-year term by the AAFP’s governing body, the Congress of Delegates.
Flu Clinics

The cost for the flu vaccine is $30, if not covered by insurance. Most insurace plans cover an annual flu vaccine. The flu clinics are available exclusively to established Rockwood Clinic Patients.
Rockwood Clinic Physical Therapy North Location Moves to Larger Space

Rockwood Clinic is pleased to announce the Rockwood Clinic Physical Therapy North group will relocate to new and larger space at the Northpoint Office Building located at 605 E. Holland Ave., Suite 112.  The specialty practice will open Monday, Oct. 1.  The current location at 9107 N. Country Homes Blvd. will close Friday, Sept. 28.
