Rockwood Clinic and Premera Blue Cross continue the18th year of HealthTalks with a June 3 presentation entitled “The Importance of Colorectal Screenings in the Early Diagnosis of Colon Cancer.”  Michael Brophy, M.D., a Rockwood Clinic gastroenterologist, will present information about the types of screenings available and the risk factors associated with the disease.
CPR Courses for Youth Coaches

Certified athletic trainers from the Rockwood Clinic Sports Medicine department are offering a free educational course for youth sports coaches. The course is an American Heart Association Heartsaver course that will address CPR for adults, children, and infants. Course participants will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR card upon course completion. In  addition to learning CPR, participants will be able to discuss basic first aid and sports medicine concepts/topics with the ATC s.
Pre-diabetes: What you need to know

Rockwood Clinic and Premera Blue Cross continue the 18th year of HealthTalks with a February 13 presentation entitled “Pre-Diabetes: What you need to know about this diagnosis.”  Carol Wysham, M.D. a Rockwood Clinic endocrinologist and international diabetes expert, along with Mary Beth Sherwood, R.D., CDE, will present information about conditions that result in "pre-diabetes" and how best to manage factors to avoid it, or address it if you are newly diagnosed.
Diabetes Day 2008 Registration

Diabetes Day is an educational program promoting diabetes self management for patients, their families and the general public. Medical experts will be speaking on all areas of diabetes care, treatment and complications of Type I and II diabetes.
